Road to Jerusalem
- Children's Worship at Roanoke Island Presbyterian Church. |
||
Reid Gilreath and Cole Spencer have been preparing for Easter by learning about Jesus' Road to Jerusalem during Children's Worship at Roanoke Island Presbyterian Church. Led by Wendy Brunk, the special worship time for young children takes place every Sunday at 10:00 AM and is based on the practice of Godly Play. During this time, Bible stories come alive as children experience their hands-on telling, explore different ways to reflect on and express their understanding of the stories, and learn to respond by sharing simple worship with others.

Come, grow with us. |
Christian Education is an important part of our relationship with God. The opportunities to read, listen and discuss aspects of the Bible, theology, as well as experiences, enhance our personal faith journeys as well as our ecclesiastical responses. ".... You shall love the lord your God with
all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.
This is the greatest and first commandment. And the second is like it:
You shall love your neighbor as yourself". On these two commandments
hang all the law and all the prophets."

Some children were brought to Jesus so
he could lay his hands on them and pray for them. The disciples told them
not to bother him. But Jesus said, "Let the children come to me.
Don't stop them! For the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to such as these."
And he put his hands on their heads and blessed them before he left.
